Focusing her practice in the area of family law as well as serving as a Guardian ad litem for children, Laura McQuesten is admitted to practice law throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and in the United States Bankruptcy Court in the Western District of Virginia. Prior to joining East Coast Trial Lawyers, PLC, Laura practiced family law in Winchester, Virginia, with the distinguished Solomon Law Group.
Laura graduated from the Regent University School of Law, where she was the Managing Editor for the Regent University Law Review, a Pupil of the James Kent American Inn of Court, and a Board Member of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Board. During law school, Laura interned for the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit with the Honorable Bobby R. Baldock and for the Circuit Court of the City of Portsmouth. After law school, Laura spent a year working as a Deputy Magistrate and Law Clerk for the Superior Court in Kotzebue, Alaska. Laura earned her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business with a minor in German.
Laura handles all family matters, including divorce, custody, visitation, child and spousal support, paternity, adoption, and protective orders. Laura also has experience representing parents and children involved with the Department of Social Services, children who are in or at risk of being in foster care, and children who are deemed children in need of services or supervision.
